LoRaWAN Water meter Overview
LoRaWAN water meter wirelessly transmits and receives data through LoRaWAN, which is a smart water meter with high precision, low power consumption, strong performance and long transmission distance. The module's chip has high anti-interference, high reliability, low power consumption, and the LoRaWAN network has been widely covered. The water meter solves the problem that the traditional design solution cannot simultaneously take into consideration the long distance, anti-interference, low power consumption, wide signal coverage and convenient installation. It is the best choice for long-distance transmission and high reliability.
Terminology
• End Device, Node, Mote - an object with an embedded low-power communication device.
• Gateway - antennas that receive broadcasts from End Devices and send data back to End Devices.
• Network Server - servers that route messages from End Devices to the right Application, and back.
• Application - a piece of software, running on a server.
• Uplink Message - a message from a Device to an Application.
• Downlink Message - a message from an Application to a Device.
LoRaWAN water meter Description
This water meter, 32mm~100mm in diameter, is available for cold water or hot water. It allows the measurement of water consumption at regular intervals, and the transmission of data via the LORAWAN data network (public or private). It is supplied with a digital display, and offers an electronic protection against electromagnetic fraud.
The water meter allows reading and sending data at different frequencies. It is possible to store locally up to 200 measure of consumption
Use case of the LORAWAN water meter
• Measurement of water consumption in buildings or apartment
• Industrial water consumption measurement
• Measurement of water consumption in smart cities

About LoRaWAN
The LoRaWAN network, also called LoRaWAN, is a dedicated Data network for IOT sensors. It provides small data transmission on large distances – up to 15 km, while consuming very limited energy, allowing sensors to be operated on small batteries.
• In Belgium and Luxembourg, Proximus operates a nationwide LoRa network.
• In France, Orange and Bouygues operate a LoRa network.
• In the Netherlands, KPN is the main LoRaWAN operator.
• LoRa is available in most Countries. Worldwide.
If there is no LoRa coverage in your country/region, it is also possible to deploy a small private LoRa network.
Contact us if you have questions about the LoRa coverage in your region.
Integration
You may use this device with your own Software Platform, or IOT Solution.
You may optionally consider using our IOT Factory Software Platform, which has fully integrated this IOT sensor. Devices Management, Custom Dashboards, Reporting, Alerting, Open APIs…
